The VRN Partnership​

​

We believe the only way to successfully prevent and reduce violence is to work in partnership. It requires a partnership which is broad in membership and ambitious in its willingness to invest in prevention and early intervention.

​

The VRN comprises of partners from across local authorities, community safety partnerships, health, education, criminal justice, voluntary and community sectors.

The Strategic Partnership Board​

 

Chaired by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Leicestershire, the Strategic Partnership Board's (SPB) core purpose is to:

​

"provide system leadership and the strategic coordination required to prevent and reduce violence and vulnerability across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland."

​

SPB Exec comprises the VRN's core members and provides governance for all of the VRN's work. Together they:

​​

  • Lead the cultural change required to secure a paradigm shift towards prevention and early intervention

  • Champion and apply the priorities, principles and methodology of the VRN within and beyond their own organisation

  • Lead key cross-cutting workstreams such as data, evidence and evaluation, and communications

  • Act as a sponsor for relevant VRN initiatives to support design and mobilisation

  • Monitor and scrutinise performance and finance

SPB Exec also has three sub-boards which deliver the VRN's priorities: the Prevention and Early Intervention Board; the Adolescence Safety and Diversion Board; and the Adult Vulnerability and Offending Board.

​

The VRN partnership is also supported by a Serious Violence Delivery Group and the VRN Central Team.
