Community Diversion Fund

*DEADLINE HAS NOW PASSED*

Deadline for applications is 23:59 on the 17th August 2025.

The Community Diversion Fund: Early intervention and diversion is to increase community-based and community-delivered prevention, early intervention and diversionary provision for children and young people at risk of involvement in anti-social behaviour (ASB), crime and/or violence.

We are looking to fund voluntary and community organisations (including grassroots groups, charities, community groups, social clubs, sports clubs, faith groups and voluntary organisations) to provide evidence informed community-based diversionary activity for children and young people between the ages of 10 – 17 years old. We are looking to fund both universal and targeted provisions.

This year, the VRN partnership is piloting Prevention Panels on behalf of the Home Office. Prevention Panels are part of the Government’s Young Futures Programme within the Safer Streets mission. Panels will act as a multi-agency mechanism for identifying and supporting 10–17-year-olds who are at risk of becoming involved in ASB, crime and violence (including knife crime and Violence Against Women and Girls). They should reach those children who are otherwise ‘unseen’ and meet the needs of those who are visible but not adequately supported, or who have been identified but lack access to appropriate services.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications for delivery in East and West of Leicester City, Charnwood, Hinckley and Bosworth, North West Leicestershire and Melton due to the higher prevalence of ASB, crime and violence in these areas.

We are also particularly interested in receiving applications from organisations which are embedded in their local community (or communities) and are therefore able to reach and engage children and young people who are most at risk.
